XML description

XML = eXtensible Markup Language
XML was created to structure, store, and transport information.
XML tags are not predefined. You must define your own tags


XML tags are case sensitive
XML elements must be properly nested
XML documents must have a root element
XML attribute values must be quoted
(XML attributes should only be used to provide information that is not data - eg. for the program that processes the data)

XML validation

A valid XML document is a document that conforms to the rules of a Document Type Definition (DTD) or a schema.
